Waves of Change
This is Live for More’s ongoing recruitment programme that is open to all potential and new clients. The focus of Tai Ora is to connect with new clients and create a healthy community where they can belong, free from judgment. Tai Ora is run each week and consists of a fitness session or physical activity to get new clients active and having fun, followed by lunch and a group discussion. Tai Ora also consists of one-on-one sessions so new clients can build trust and relationships with the staff at Live for More before progressing to the Tai Wātea programme
Tai Wātea Programme
Waves of Freedom
This is Live for More’s intensive 9-week programme that is available to clients who are keen to commit and have a desire to make changes in their lives. The focus of Tai Wātea is to inspire clients so they realise they can make changes in their lives. Tai Wātea involves surf therapy, group therapy, one-on-one clinical sessions, one-on-one life navigational sessions, as well as cultural sessions including pepeha and haka. One full day each week consists of the surf therapy, group therapy and the haka and pepeha cultural sessions. The following two days then consist of one-on-one clinical and life navigational sessions for clients. Tai Wātea finishes with a formal graduation for the clients, where they share their pepeha, give speeches and perform a haka. At graduation, graduates are recognised for all their progress and hard work, and each is presented with an individual award and taonga.
Tai Tautoko Programme
Waves of Support
This is Live for More’s ongoing keeping-in-touch programme that is open to all Tai Wātea graduates for as long as they want and need. The focus of Tai Tautoko is to empower graduates to achieve true freedom and take control of their futures. Tai Tautoko keeps graduates connected with each other and the wider Live for More whānau, while offering ongoing focussed support as they continue to make positive changes in their lives. Tai Tautoko has a weekly programme that runs every Friday, which includes a surf therapy session, followed by lunch and a group therapy session. Graduates also receive ongoing one-on-one support, empowering them to stay on track and maintain positive momentum to achieve their goals. Tai Tautoko is available ongoing to graduates forever – the support from Live for More never ends and is always available to them.
